Youth are the strength and power of any society. No society can be prosperous and
can cope up with the present globalized world without the active involvement of
the young people in different social factors. If the youth are not guided and utilized
properly, the potentiality of this large enthusiastic portion of the world’s population
can be abused. In the recent time, we can see that many young people are getting
involved in various wrongful activities, which has already been evolved as a gigantic
threat to the whole world. Youth are the people who can lead the world towards peace
and prosperity. So, keeping them on the right track is mandatory.
In the context of South Asia, it is very unfortunate that there are many ever growing
tensions and calamities, which are being conducted by many of the youth as it’s
very easy to motivate them and most of the people who are being affected by these
evil steps also belong to the youth group. The future might be greatly endangered
if some initiatives are not taken to prevent this. For that, it is important to
build awareness among the young people and to make them motivated and confident
and to have the guts to go for the right doings for attaining peace, prosperity
and development of this region.
South Asia Youth for Peace and Prosperity Society (SAYPPS) is an initiative to connect
youth of South Asia in a positive and caring friendship that will nurture mutual
understanding and global peace .This is designed to engage youth in South Asia in
activities that will help them raise their self-esteem, broaden their knowledge
and engender a sense of accomplishment. It aims to engage and assist young people
of South Asia to work together and find ways and means to accomplish global, as
well as regional and national peace and prosperity. SAYPPS believes that inspiring
the young people to get involved in literature, fine art, science, education etc.
can foster the spirit and cooperation and the will to practice it. The youth can
be motivated to be the bridge builders among nations, which can play a vital role
to bring peace and prosperity. SAYPPS includes programs like seminars, workshops,
cultural exchange programs, community trainings etc. to initiate and increase the
depth and scope of mutually beneficial cooperation. We also take steps to make the
young people concerned about the threats posted by terrorism , religious extremism
and separatism, as well as other transnational problems and to increase the youth
participation in the decision making process. We also focus on the extreme levels
of gender discrimination and inequality in Bangladesh and South Asia region and
about the epidemics like HIV/AIDS. Youth should be utilized to build a more just
and prosperous world, which would be possible with the aid of different programs
that nurture their innate creativity. SAYPPS searches for new frontiers of cooperation
to make that possible.
